2023 Young Playwright Contest Winners Announced

Collaborative School of the Arts and Capital Repertory Theatre are excited to announce the 9th annual 2023 Young Playwright Contest winners. Contest winners have already received a public reading of their play in theREP’s 2023 Next Act! New Voices event. Next, these students will see their plays on stage during Collaborative School of the Arts’ Summer Stage Young Acting Company July 2023.

Submissions were evaluated on creativity, dialogue, character development, plot structure and the inclusion of the line “You did what?!” Playwrights must be at least 13 years old and no older than 19 years old at the time of submission and must reside within a 90-mile radius of Albany, NY. The submissions are no longer than 10 minutes in length when acted out.
